Replacing front "Skoda" badge

Featured Replies

I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of advice - I have a 2023 Sportline in Black Magic. I'm keen to replace the chrome badge on the bonnet with a black one - but my problem is... which black? As mentioned, the paint is Black Magic Pearl, but the only black badges I can find talk about "Monte Carlo black" eg.  https://www.kopacek.com/skoda/karoq/karoq-original-skoda-monte-carlo-black-emblem-front  . Is this the same colour, or will it look odd against the paintwork? Or any other recommendations for where I can buy a replacement (although I'm not keen on AliExpress tbh). Thanks in advance.

I too am interested as I’ve just purchased a Black magic Sportline 😊

I’ve gone and purchased a Matt black badge from Ali express but, it’s just a stick on rather than a proper badge.
Any info would be helpful and I’ll keep you posted when mine arrives.

Ok (please. Don’t take this post as gospel)

After looking at several YT videos

You have to order the badge with the 3 Tabs on the back to align the badge correctly.
iskng a heat gun, heat the badge so the adhesive becomes malleable

and use dental floss to in and around the badge to pry the badge away.
hopefully not to much sticky residue is left.
clear away that gunk (video I watched the guy uses a rubber disk on a grinder/polisher to remove the glue)

why am I telling you this?
Here’s the video!

Thanks Swint. Would be interested to hear what your badge is like. Maybe matt is the way to go!?

Nice looking car btw 😉

Have a look here, maybe it helps :)
I bought everything from www.kopacek.com, OEM like quality

Looks good Swint. Was it easy to get the old badge off?

Yeah and no!

I used a hairdryer for about 8 mins and the some floss.

it needed some jimmering with a flat head screwdriver too 🤦‍♂️ (nervous part) so I protected the paint with a towel and masking tape.
left some residue behind that I scraped and rubbed off most of it  with my fingers.
After that dead easy. 😮‍💨

good luck 😉

Kettle of boiling water good for removing stick on badges ,how i got mine off on my octy .

Some kind of contrasting color will help with visibility.

That looks good!  I have a red Karoq, but the badge is chrome with black background. The black with red background would look  better.

Looks good. My Karoq is black, so the badge won't show up so much but I just don't like the chrome badge. I finally ordered a black one from Kopacek - just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit before I stick it on

I am not keen on Chrome, and I have an SE L 🙂  I do prefer the black of the Sport line but I am not fanatical about it.

I prefer the logo in the post above that is black  on red. Rather than chrome on black.
So thinking of going for the set from Kopacek and change the chrome letters on the back to black.

Just a quick update - I finally swapped my badge over a few weeks ago and thought I'd post a picture in case anyone is interested. I'm well chuffed with the end result
