Hi all,

 

The 2008 Octy (bluey) just failed an MOT for headlamp adjustment too low (no adjustment possible) The car now has a flat battery making thing just little bit more difficult.

 

I rang Soda and the technician said that there is a manual adjustment to the side, rather than the back on halogen versions. My initial thoughts were that the electric adjustment had failed and these are £800 for  pair! It seems odd that they would both fail at the same time.

 

My questions is, if the lights do their self test when they are initially turned on (sweep up and down( then the electrics side is surely OK?

 

Check the front and rear level sensors on the ns, as sometime the links break and cause the headlamps fail to adjust properly

Thanks for that, I'll take a look in the morning. I don't have any error codes; not sure if it's electrically connected? In which case it wouldn't throw a code would it?

It's a mechanical link connected to the sensor so if it is link is broken I don't think there will be any fault codes but the car will unable to determine the height of the car to adjust the headlights properly
