AKL idle issue cold. Possible solution

Featured Replies

First of all I'm sorry that I'm creating a new discussion.

My skoda has been a bit of a nightmare, since owning it I've had erratic revs when cold and misfire and with this winter it became unbearable where it would stall when cold.

Replaced and serviced a lot of parts, coil pack, leads, plugs, air filter, cleaned maf and tb, even tried another tb from a breaker, thermostat and etc sensor too.

However now I belive I have found a solution and will include this

I spray the air inlet behind the manifold with carb cleaner and the revs go up so this confirms a leak as air is getting sucked in.

so this is the next job  the manifold is going to have to come off i know the gaskets are around 50 to 80 pounds for them all.

what I'd like to know is how much time will this typically take to change I'm gonna have to use a garage as its a little out of my comfort zone stripping this down?

Many thanks
