Had some problems with the chrome bit that holds the keyrings on the key breaking and letting keyrings fall off. Had tried evrything, aradite, superglue you name it and posted about it here and heard it was a common fault and nobody here knew of a fix except paying for a new key which was a big no no! Asked the dealer today if he could fix it and they managed it! God knows how they did it but it seems as if that little fault can be cured!

Canyou find out how they fixed it, having these things break on me as they do for all VAG motors I would be very interested in being able to save

Yeah I'll try and find out how they did it when |I go back in to get some parts on order fitted. Me thinks the dealer had too much time on there hands.

O.K then bit of a bump but went into the garage last week to get said parts fitted. Apparently it was just loctite and a clamp, or hand if you can be bothered holding it titely for 10 minutes. What you should do is clear out all the junk in the wee hole for it with a pin so the chrome bit fits in nicely, this does work! 1 month and it's still on
