Possible to swap dq200 to 09g on 1.4 tsi ?

Featured Replies

Have an octavia 1.4 tsi with dsg that i want to swap to regular auto 09g, is it possible ?

Do you want to fit a DQ,250 6 speed wet clutch DSG?    @thomasaspin  is the person that can maybe help.    Have you got someone that is going to do the conversion?     ,...... EDIT.  So a Tiptronics.   I see from your old post in the MK2 section that you had one of these 09g Automatics in your 1.6 MPI and had issues.  Why would you want to fit one of these in the car you have now,,?

Have you considered a dsg tune? Would be much cheaper upgrade, at least to try out before bigger changes.

Sold that car years ago it had issues because the mechanic used wrong trans oil.
Dsg is very jerky in traffic and needs a clutch pack which is very expensive in my country so was wondering if its possible

Showing what country you are in would be useful.     Sourcing one of these old gearboxes and then having someone fit one to likely find it will not work will not be cheap is it?    If you have someone to fit one you are best asking them If It is feasible.

Egypt. I was asking if anyone had any previous exp dealing with this but will check my local shops and update the thread.

After checking with my local shops, it seems 09g wont be compatible with my engine. But dq250 wet clutch is recommended by them, any experience with that gearbox ?

If the problems is jerky action in slow traffic then i dont believe it is worth it. Perhaps it is better than dq200 and withstands slow traffic / clutch slipping better since it is wet. But slow traffic performance is still weakness of both transmissions. I wud imagine that new clutches and a dsg tune is much cheaper alternative with similar results.

And guaranteed to work.

The problem is that i need to change clutch packs quite excessivly when the dq250 rarely needs that only needs oil change. Do you have exp with a certain tune ?

Typically clutch pack is changed once in cars life time, should not be a part of maintenance plan lol.

TVS tunes are good. Not perfect but it is much more enjoyable to drive with it.
