Issues with Key Fob and Seat Inclination button

Featured Replies

Dear All,

New to the forum and my first post here. I live in Germany and bought a second-hand Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI Style version last Friday. I was in a rush during the delivery and didn't have time to check everything properly. This is my first "fancy car" with an on-board computer and other fancy accessories.

I only noticed yesterday that the second key is not working and it is needed to change myself as a primary user of the car. I tried changing the battery and it is not the problem. The red beep light itself is not working. What is the issue here?

In addition, I have an electronic memory seat system, and the seat inclination and memory function of the driver seat don't seem to be working. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or if there is a problem with the system.

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

If you have changed the battery in the key to a known good battery then you probably need a new key.  You will need to get this from a Skoda dealer as they will update the Skoda database that the new key belongs to your car.  You will then be able to set yourself as the user.

In any event I recommend that you run a factory reset to remove all the settings from the old user.  You will then run as 'Guest' until you can take ownership.

Thank you. The Key was not working even before I changed the battery, so I changed it to see if the problem was with the battery.

I already did a factory reset and now running the onboard computer as a guest.
