Trunk lock

Featured Replies

please help, the trunk of my octavia 2017 locks only from the key fob and nothing else.

Manual trunk or electric? Lock or close?

  • Author

manual, opening can only be done from the key fob

to open the trunk i have to press the button on the key every time, no matter if the car is running or off

Lock obviously works, so it;'s a problem with the release button on the tailgate. You'll need to open up the trim on the tailgate and investigate.

the button works, otherwise I could open the trunk, the problem is that the car locks the trunk all the time

Which button?

I'm talking about the one on the actual tailgate below the Skoda badge.

everything is correct, the button on the trunk only works after I unlock the trunk from the key fob

the problem is not to open the trunk, the problem is that the car locks it all the time

Have you got the central locking set to only unlock the drivers door only? If you have then when you get out the car after driving it will leave the 3 other doors and the boot/trunk locked.

  • Author

no, all doors except the trunk unlock

I'm out of ideas then, if I've understood you correctly:

the boot locks by itself and won't open using the handle on the boot until you have unlocked it using the key when you can then open the boot using the handle?

that's right, you understood everything correctly

The manual suggests the following options, it might be worth checking and trying some others:

@arla70 Do you have KESSY? If so then if you have selected "Single door" or "Doors on a vehicle side" then you have to touch the KESSY handle (drivers door handle?) to unlock the boot.

No KESSY

Any aftermarket LED bulbs or other electronics? At least with automatic trunks they cause all kind of issues.

It seems that for some reason the lock gets false signal to lock. Could also be some old fashioned electric problems in the lock. Do you have rear window washer? Sometimes they leak internally to the lock and cause problems.
