Cold start noise; 2011 VRS 2.0; CCZA; VCDS report

Featured Replies

Hello,

Below is the topic I started following a cold start noise in my recently bought 2011 VRS with engine code CCZA. We did a VCDS scan yesterday and got the following report.

  • The noise only comes when cold starting
  • Goes away after engine reaches operating temperature
  • VCDS report shows misfire
  • We cleared codes and took the car out for a spin. Did a re-scan, no fault codes after.

Please can you have a look at the scan report and tell me what you guys think? No mention of timing issues in the report. However, I was told that the noise from my attached videos in the below thread could be a timing chain?

As a side note, does anyone know a good mechanic in the Leicestershire/Coventry area to whom I can take to get the timing chain inspected? if needed
