Good morning guys I have an issue with the boot lock on my hatchback. So when I press to open the locks or the button to open the boot only I can hear the the actuator making sounds and pressing the handle to open the boot it makes a noise but won't open the boot. I have found from this forum how to open the boot from inside and got it open but what will I need to tackle to fix this issue? Do I need to remove the white actuator and open it to grease it up or is there another fix for this issue? Need to get it fixed ASAP as usual all the problems seem to appear just before MOT so luckily I've got it pushed back a week to give me time to get this sorted.

OK so a reply to my own post. But anyways I googled the issue again and found one where it said to split the actuator open. So I opened it sprayed it with WD40 and replied it and it seems to be working for now. So fingers crossed it holds at least until its through MOT.

Our boot did this once; you could hear the motor going when you pressed the button and if you looked through the window you could see the "nudge" (whatever it's called) move a bit but not enough to release.

 

Much lubrication later and it was perfect.  These things just get stiff.

 

As for the car... ahahahaha.  Etc.
