How to connect iPhone via Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have recently bought a very clean Octavia Mk2 1.6 MPI.  I was hoping to connect my phone via Bluetooth but despite having a bluetooth option on the Bolero it doesn't connect and there is no aux port or MDI port. Would it be easier to install an aux port or  a bluetooth unit? Thanks

My octavia 12 plate has small handsfree touch screen right hand of dash with microphone on windrscreen pillar. Not sure if its standard or an added extra. Is there not an AUX port in the pop up box between front seats? My old octavia had a 3.5mm jack connection there and my later SEAT had a USB socket.

Hi,

MY Octavia doesn't have the box between the seats, I think it must be an optional extra. The only screen I have is the one on the Bolero unit. There isn't a Bluetooth unit under the front seats.

Thanks

@Faciletigre  ...... Just checking ......... Bluetooth is switched on on your phone isn't it.

I ask as we have had very similar scenario's before and the simplest thing turned out to be the solution.

I have no experience of the Bolero though, but just trying to help.

And welcome to Brisky.  :)

If the Btooth unit isnt under the seats then the Bolero probably doesnt have blue tooth. My son has an 06 fabia and he picked up a blue tooth/fm adapter for the cigarette lighter socket from halfords for about £15 so he can play his music from his phone. The other option would be to retrofit the Bluetooth unit under the seats but not sure how complex that would be.

I can confirm that the Bolera does not have bluetooth as standard. Retrofitting it can be expensive.

The Aux socket is "in" only, and passes the in signals to the speakers when you select Aux on the Bolero.

Putting a bluetooth adapter on the Aux input (available on the back of the Bolero if you don't have it on the central console) is only the same as adding a cable and will only pass audio to the speakers and not act as a remote microphone for your phone. Also check that Aux is on your Bolero menu.

Thanks for all the useful advice! I will look into all of these possibilities.

Hi,

I've taken out the Bolero unit but can't see where the aux cable would attach. Does anyone know please?

Thanks

Think it connects through the block connectors. Found this on here but not sure if its the same as yours.
