Glowplug failure and Ticking noise from the engine

Featured Replies

Hello all. This is my first post because i need some information about what is happening to my poor Skoda. I've had the car for around 4 years and only had minor problems. However yesterday i was driving home and i got an alert saying " start/stop system fault " and the glow plug warning light on, i immediately felt a cut in power as i could not get her to go above 50. i was able to pull over and check the engine but all i could hear was a prominent ticking sound. I managed to limp her home as now i know the car went into emergency mode to try and minimize the damage. I have a guy coming around with a diagnostics computer to see if he can find anything

let me know if ye have any ideas as what can be causing this

its a 2014 Skoda Octavia, 1.5 liter diesel

Hello, welcome to the forum. Very possibly a faulty fuel injector, a VCDS scan should show the cause of fault.
