Wing mirror coming apart

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The left side wing mirror on my 2016 Octavia is coming apart at the seams, so to speak. The bottom section of the casing has been damaged at some point so that it doesn’t clip into place properly any more. See pic…

It’s actually not that big a deal, as although the casing can be pulled away from the unit as shown, it still returns to the correct position when not being pulled out, albeit quite loosely. I would like to fix it, though, so I’m just wondering if it’s okay to simply glue the lip of the bottom trim to the casing.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Glue might be an issue if you ever need to replace the indicator sometime in the future.

Have a look at this video and take it all apart to have a look at what's broken and upgrade the indicators to dynamic ones and the puddle lights to led while it's all apart :)
