Warning, ⚠️ Only leave vehicle in position P

I thought I would post my experiences with this common fault on VW DSG gearboxes for others to see.

I've been getting on and off for a while on my 2017 Rapid Spaceback. , but it was getting more frequent. 

After sending pictures to AKS Tuning to make sure I was getting the correct modification for my gearbox I ordered Part 5Q0713128A from them. 

I fitted the part to Skoda Rapid this morning. It seems to be working fine.

Anyhow there was no room around the actual mechanism to hide the extra plugs etc. and I couldn't get the connectors through to under the two drink holders side from the gear lever side to access the original socket.  I had to dismantle the mechanism and slide the microswitch through from the drinks holder side and reassemble it.  This was easy. The other thing I had to do was in order to access the Torx headed screw that holds it all in place I had to drill a small hole in the side of the trim to allow me to put a Torx screwdriver through to the screw. I've attached  pictures and a VW document. Took about 30mins once I worked out how to do it.
