DSG DQ250 Service interval

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I was always lead to believe the 6 speed wet clutch DSG in a MK3.5 TSI VRS 230 (DQ250) had a service interval of 40,000 miles, regardless of time. I had my service today and the garage said I was due a DSG service, as it's been 4 years since the last one. My car is a 2017 model and has covered 32k miles, so technically (at least to my understanding) not due a DSG service for another 8k miles. However it had a DSG service in 2021 (at 17k miles), meaning that the pervious owner had it done at the 4 year mark, and not the 40k miles I've seen suggested.

Numerous sources online suggest it's 40k miles with no time interval, Anyone able to shed some more light on this?

From everything I've learnt, its mileage based.  However, like all fluids, they do degrade if either there is lots of low mileage / hot/cold cycles that occur, so maybe that is why your garage is recommending it.  If its a Skoda dealer, then you have to consider whether they are upselling anything, namely servicing.

Suggest maybe going to a VAG specialist in Norwich for a second opinion.

@SeeJay  Just ask the Service Desk person to show where the DQ250 service interval is other than at 40,000 miles, or sooner if someone wants.
