System starting...

Spoiler

Hi, new to here thanks for the addition...

I'm trying to find out if anyone in Australia is oon this site..?

I'm suffering with what seems to be a common problem but no definitive answer...

Columbus showing:- "system starting" after a voice command asking for the navigation disc to be inserted...

I know there are lots of threads on this subject and sorry to ask again but maybe this way I'll get a definitive answer for Australian firmware/nav maps...

Where I might get a cd with the maps on maybe...

Thanks

Hi, welcome Wylee.

There are definitely some Aussies on this site, well I've seen at least one that I can remember (Gascan Jerry if I remember the name right).  If you don't get more or better replies here you could have a look at the Octavia Mk2 forum for this issue and/or post in there.  Skoda Octavia Mk2 (2004 - 2013) forum. -  https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/28-skoda-octavia-mk2-2004-2013/

HTH. Good luck.  Wylee (Willy?)

Can't go wrong name-dropping @JR RS for all your Aussie advice and enthusiasm...

@wylee - hey hey.
sounds like u have the mk2 Octavia with the Columbus RNS-510 system.

it's strange that it is asking u to insert the navigation disc because the RNS-510 installs the maps on the built-in HDD, and runs off that, hence not requiring a CD to run.

u may have to re-install the maps again.

i used to have the RNS-510 maps before, as i had a MY11 mk2 Octavia RS prior to my current Superb.  However i'm not sure if i still have the maps.  will have a look when i'm home.

otherwise, i would recommend jumping on the MIBSolution website and downloading the latest maps from there. V7 is latest one for us.

Folder path is -> Maps -> RNS -> RNS510 AUS-NZ V7 CD_8035

“Guest” is the username and password. It should be on a pop up but it might not be visible.

You may also have to click through a few folders to find what you’re looking for - there’s some sense in the making but not always!

@wylee - don't use ur phone. Use a laptop/PC.

Login (details r on the login page itself - screenshot below), navigate to the folder, as I provided above, download the file, unzip it, burn it to CD, insert into ur Columbus, start the Update process.
