Lower Door Mirrors in Reverse

Featured Replies

There is a facility to dip the door mirrors when reverse is selected. It is enabled in Vehicle-vehicle-Exterior-Mirrors

This is selected on my car but the mirrors do not move. Anyone else experienced this?

Do you have mirror knob switch to select left or right mirror or in neutral or heating position?

Yes. Left, right, heating and fold in.

I meant, if you selected left or right mirror, then in reverse the selected mirror should lower itself.

If you have mirror knob on neutral or heating position, then it will not engage if I recall correctly.

For RHD vehicle, I believe that the window switch has to be set to left (L) for the mirror to dip while reversing - you also require electrically operated seats for mirror to dip to correct position, otherwise mirror position while reversing can be a little random.

Thanks Guys. Just tried it with left mirror selected and that worked. 😎😎😎

Mine Does he dip in reverse OK. But every now and then forgets to un dip after parking. The sequence seems to be: Reverse into a space. Mirror dips. Turn the engine off. Mirror folds. Come back to the car later. Unlock. Mirrors unfold with the mirror still dipped. Now the mirror is stuck until you adjust it with the control.

In addition to the driver's seat position, the mirror positions are also saved when you 'set' the seat position to one of the three seat switches. Assuming you've saved your electric seat position, press and briefly hold the relevant seat button (1, 2 or 3) and the dipped mirror will return to its preset position. This negates any need to faff around with the mirror control.
