Fabia 1.2 Timing Belt

Featured Replies

Hi folks

I have a 2014 Fabia Scout TSi, 89k CBZA and would like to confirm if timing belt is required to be changed or not.

Had mixed messages but for piece of mind thought i would ask here.

Any help would be much appreciated.👍

I change mine every 60,000 or 5 years whatever is sooner. Bit earlier than is required but I am paranoid. As yours is 10/11 years old I would do it. Think these days skoda say belt for life but depends on what they mean by lifetime and also how long they expect the car to be on the road. For peace of mind at 89k and 10/11 years old I would change it. Not sure on those engines if it drives water pump as well but there is the tensioner and idle pulley to take in to consideration as well. You could ask your local skoda dealer. I was told for my 1.9tdi on an average mileage of 12k a year it should be changed at around 70,000 or 6 years.

It's a timing chain on the CBZA, but some garages will be happy to take your money for changing the belt.
