PR Code Confusion

Featured Replies

Howdy all, its late and I'm scratching my head with this..

Trying to source rear calipers, discs and pads. The PR code for my 2015 150 Scout rear brakes is 1KS. Bit everything I find online for 1KS lists as Mk2 Octavia.

When I search by model year, there's loads listed for 2015 cars but all have PR code 1KD.

Am I missing something here? Dunno whether to order the Mk2 stuff with the right PR code or the 2015 stuff with the wrong PR code.Screenshot_20250319_002822_M365 Copilot.jpg

It should be 1KD. Your PR sticker in the boot might have the rear brake info on it, but if not you can get in touch with some people on here to get the full build sheet for your car.

Thanks mate, I've got the build sheet, says 1KS 🤔

1KS doesn't necessarily relate to a Mk2 AFAIK. For your car I think you can have either 1KJ, 1KD or 1KS.

That said, I'd personally scrap all that, and get the tape measure out in the morning.

You should have either 253x10mm or 272x10mm (paired with either 288mm or 312mm fronts). For the 1.5 I think it should be the former.

Once you've figured that out, discs/pads are fairly easy, along with the appropriate caliper part no.

Thanks, when I fire the reg into EuroCarParts it gives 2 options, the 253 is the 1KD and the 272 is the 1KS.

Bit of paper behind the wheel, or the mrs' tape measure and you should have it figured out.

For the 1.5 I am 99% sure it'll be 288/253. IIRC for VAG in that era it only went up to 312/272 for >180ps or 4x4.

Thanks mate, I'll measure up tomorrow. Mines a 2.0 TDi 150hp 4x4 .

Haha, it's late - not sure how I misread 150 as 1.5 (I should have realised they didn't make a 1.5 in 2014)!

Apparently looks like it can be either... best to measure twice order once.

The Skoda parts catalogue shows all the OEM part numbers for the 1KS build code

The 1KS build code has TRW rear brake calipers. TRW GDB2042 rear brake pads would fit.
