P2002 / Oil Leak - Recommendations for garages (Liverpool)

Featured Replies

Hi,

Reoccurring P2002 MIL code

  • Read on forums this could be faulty G450 sensor - unsure if this is something doable with no experience, so could do with recommendations where to go please

  • Everywhere we take it (including Skoda) say blocked DPF and requires regen - local garage "drove it round the block and cleared MIL" and declared the issue sorted

  • I bought Ross Tech VCDS. Forced regen (didn't really need it) and continued to monitor. Confirmed there's no DPF soot build up and the car is doing normal regen things.

  • The P2002 comes back within 20 - 50 miles after clearing the MIL

Leaking cylinder head

  • Local garage picked up on an oil leak issue ~6 months ago -- we've never noticed any oil on the drive, and we've only topped oil up once in 6 months

  • Been trying to find a recommended place to look at it

  • Not getting anywhere from recommendations

  • Took it to Skoda for a £110 diagnostic. Quote was £900 including DPF regen (not needed, see above!) + £800 brake pads / discs + £1100 of other advisory stuff

Unsure if the two issues are maybe related.

It's a decent car that we don't want to get rid off - but hard to justify sending £3k Skoda's way!

Any advice where to start or recommendations where to go to would be really appreciated.

Thanks :)

P2002 - its probably going to be the G450 pressure sensor in that case. Its easy to access and easy to replace. Make sure you get the latest variant of the sensor 076906051B. If that doesn't fix it, then I suggest an engine oil flush (to clear out any debris) and if that still doesn't fix it, then you will probably need to get the DPF cleaned out professionally.

I'm not from Liverpool area, but these guys look reasonable: https://srcautomotive.co.uk/ - they are VAG specialists and also specialise in DPF issues.
