I brought my car on PCP and then paid it off within 2 weeks and kept the free servicing.

My car is on variable service at the minute, done about 11500 on a 24 plate.

The car says about 5000 miles left to service which is about right. Only ever get about 16000 on variable service.

My question is the local Skoda dealer rang me to book in for service as it’s coming upto a year old. I explained it’s on variable service but they were fairly insistent that it should be done.

I can’t find my documents for the free servicing at the minute. The garage can see it on the system though.

What free service do you get with the PCP. Is it 10000 mile?

Or is it the garage just trying it on🤐

I had to pay for my service plan when I got my car (also 2024) it didn't come as standard with the PCP.

My one includes 1 x oil change service and 1 x inspection service. I'm on fixed 10k/1yr but I don't think that's a requirement.

You need to check the T&C,s and was it an Inspection Service & an Inspection service & fixed servicing 9,400 miles / 372 days or 24 months /18,000 - 20,000 miles.

So at 2 years and 4 years.

I doubt you were getting Variable Service Intervals. If you were you would have extras at the 2nd service anyway.

Oil should be changed on both a mileage and time basis. as a result servicing should be annual at a minimum and more frequent if doing big mileage.

The car is on Variable, as they leave the factory.

24 months / 18,000 - 20,000 miles. a TDI on Long Life oil.

It is just at the PDI or at the dealership they never changed it to FIXED SERVICING.

As many do because greedy and without asking the owner / keeper, or because on a Service Plan or many the FREE SERVICING which really is not FREE. Someone pays, part of a finance incentive.

Variable is exactly what many doing high annual mileage want because they might not want to be at a Dealership each 6 months or so.

Fixed if that is your choice.

Cam Belt and DSG can be incorrect. 6 year Air Filter unchecked would be just crazy.

As it is Servicing is little done. Extras... cost.

As was till 2019. Minor / Interim and Major time about, or it was Major & Major on Variable Servicing.
