RNS510 aftermarket query

Featured Replies

Hi, apologies as I know this topic has been done to death.

I've just bought a 2014 Superb L&K 2.0 TDI with the common RNS510 boot loop error. Seller has agreed to replace unit with aftermarket android auto/apple carplay setup.

I managed to reboot original unit yesterday after using SWL_fix.....I think, otherwise it was a coincidence, and noticed the unit seems tied to a lot of other systems. MFD, park assist etc. It reverted to boot loop on next staring the vehicle.

My questions. What is the best aftermarket unit to negate loss of other functions? How can I tell if the TV module is installed? Finally, given that the unit sprung back to life, albeit temporarily, do you think the original unit is salvageable?

Many thanks in advance.

Indeed, it's tied to a lot of other systems, that's why I do not recommend aftermarket units as I have not found any that is 100% compatible with all the features, if you need to replace then IMHO the best in class is original MIB STD2 PQ unit

How can I tell if the TV module is installed? => Pls share VIN so I can check.

Do you think the original unit is salvageable? I'm pretty sure it can be recovered, pls take it out and share the picture of a label from upper housing.

Thanks for the quick reply. The car is currently with seller doing final prep so unfortunately no access to unit at the minute. I do however have the Vin: TMBBE73T3E9054856

I will haggle with seller to replace with the unit you recommend.....could be interesting 🙂

Once again, many thanks.

P.S. from memory whilst the unit was running i think the screen showed HW07. SW 6270, however, i could be wrong.
