Colour mismatch bodywork / rear bumper

Featured Replies

Hello troops - i've just bought a 2020 octavia vRS estate in Meteor Grey, lovely lovely car, however, the back bumper looks like it's been painted and the colour match is slightly off.

Quizzed the sellar about it and they said it's kinda normal that sometimes the colour is very slightly different on plastic compared to the metalwork. Weird thing is it's only the sides of the bumper and not the rear!

Is the seller correct?

(seller being a VAG specialist - a respected garage in the North of England)

Some tell you any old guff.

Ask the reputable Car Sprayer what they think when they inspect it if you are going to get it resprayed.

Look at it under different light ,my meteor grey sometimes looks like the bumpers are slightly lighter too ,its a terrible colour to match tho ,and that came from a reputable body shop who did a little job for me .

mine looks like it's got a very light blue hue - very odd...

Couple of pictures attached, ignore the black patch in Bumper 1 - that's been fixed by the seller.

My last employer had 3 (three) Octavia 2 estates in silver. 2 had factory paint and a perfect match on the rear bumper; the third had a new bumper sprayed by a local (to the site) bodyshop following a nudge, which was a different shade.
