One Touch Window Glitch

Featured Replies

One touch windows wont work on my 12 plate vrs estate. Ive tried every method on YouTube to no avail. I'm wondering if the chineseium feeling switches could be the problem as I'm sure they are not original an original VAG part. Any suggestion from the knowledge base would be appreciated.

I'm feeling a little disillusioned at the moment as looking at vcds tweaks on YouTube, with options that are not present on my car makes me wonder if its a trim level thing or if the UK market got a stripped down version, like the cold bulb check. It just isn't there on my car.

A replacement "4 gang windows switch" can be had on ebay for under a tenner. The cover is simply held on by clips.

Dead easy to install and at least you will have eliminated the switches. 🙂

I had similar problems on my old 08 octavia. Over time the switches wear out plus they tend to get wet if the window is left open. Tried dismantling switch to clean contacts but found the retaining screws were loose and wouldn't tighten properly. I bought a cheap copy off amazon for about £15 and it cured it. In my case it randomly worked but most of the time the window went either all the way down or all the way up when trying to open it slightly.
