Eccentric warning lights

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm just back on here after a few years having acquired a 2015 Yeti 2 litre diesel. There is a weird problem with the warning lights. When I turn on the ignition they all come on as usual. I start the engine and they go off. After a few moments they all come back on again with the tyre pressure one flashing. I drive off and in a short while they all go off. Then sometimes they come on again while driving. The tyres are all correctly pressured. The lights I am referring to are power steering (left dial) and ESC, ABS and tyres (right dial).

The car went back to the dealer and they appeared to have fixed it but not for long!

I'd be grateful for any clues as to what is going on.

A failed ABS wheel speed sensor perhaps?

By any chance wouldn't be a battery problem?

Thanks for the comments so far. I think the ABS wheel speed sensor is a possible answer. Battery is fine though.

The lights you mention are all related to systems that rely on ABS wheel sensor input, so that could well be the common factor.

Thank you. This is beginning to look like the answer.

See if your issue looks anything like ours 😀:

Thank You scott, i get error when i use handbrake in parking mode. the ABS lights appears on display. and when i switch off the ignition and turn it again, everything goes good. maybe i have a ABS sensor problem also

Thanks Scott. Your display looks exactly like ours so I think this nails it.

Just to finish off, it was an ABS wheel speed sensor. Apparently when they fail they set off the other warning lights as well.

Thanks for all of the advice above.

Our 2017's has just done the same, including the front cornering light failure.

I've one of those Carista dongles , and amidst all the expected error codes from the warning lights, it had a specific message on the 'right rear ABS sensor'. Ordered a Bosch one for £22. Wish me luck!

Good luck!

Timely - same problem on my 2025 1.2Tsi - intermittent Christmas lights. However mine also lost power (into limp mode).
