I had to remove the rear wiper arm to replace the motor and now it's getting stuck on the screen. It goes across OK but then gets stuck on the return journey. It will work ok if the screen is sufficiently slippy with washer liquid but when that first wipe removes that liquid and the screen is drier, it sticks.

If I flip the wipe upwards it all works fine, showing the motor is doing the job. Have I somehow made the downward pressure firmer or got some positioning wrong?

Had the exact same problem, bought a box of various size rubber washes and put them on the spindle only a couple of mm thick, worked for me

So this was to raise the height of the arm on the spindle - to stop it the arm going so low on it?

Yes that's it, I also tried not pushing the arm right down on spindle but felt bit loose so opted for rubber washers
