A little help would be appreciated.

Does the 1.5 TSI ACT engine have a wet or dry timing belt?

I’ve done some research, but I’m getting conflicting information and would like a definitive answer before I buy a car.

It is a Dry Belt.

Expensive to change, and up to 2023 Skoda / VW UK was saying at 5 years /50,000 miles.

Cost of being done at main Dealers from £800-£1,200.

That was revised, UK not a Dust Rich Region, and people not having them done, trading in cars instead and Dealers would have to do them. 6 plus hours they told owners it took. (7.5 hours in the book.)

So plenty paid the big money and cars sold with FMDSH and serviced to Guidelines.

THEN DEALERS SELLING CARS THAT WERE NOT DONE, SAVED THEM DOING THEM.

This was pre 2023, but not according to Skoda / VW Group main dealers.

many of tthese intervals are too long. iming belt depends of driving. if car was urban driving, should be changet sooner, in its highway diving, manual is ok, 180000 kms, and they said 10-13 years. i fill fix it in 8-9 years max.

next air filter, 6 years and 90000 kms it will be clogged like a brick.

dont worry about about 120000 km, then inspect and change other belt, look your driving style.
