did such a configuation (scout 4x4 AND vrs) exist in 2007? I've attached a video of it... or is this a frankenstein car, made up of bits and pieces?

I've been sent attached a photo too, it does have matching green trim inside - sorry for the quality, the video as a whole was too long to attach here so had to ss.

Just comes up as a Scout TDI 140 on my check, so I'd assume it's just been modified.

I see - that is very annoying as will pump up the insurance hugely. Thanks

Welcome. Just a vRS badge on a vehicle.

?

What part of the modification will pump up the insurance on an 18 year old car?

Surely they do not load the premium because the wheels are a horrible colour. Take the vRS badge off.

The only obvious mod is the exhaust, I'm guessing at the very least, it's been mapped though

As @Ootohere says, the insurance won't change in the slighest because someone has whacked a £2.99 badge on the bootlid. We used to have a VW Fox with an ABT badge on the back of it.

That being said, the exhaust and wheels are not good... wheels are irrelevant but the exhaust might increase the insurance price. Of course, you could just change the tips and claim not to notice.

As @StevesTruck says though, it's likley been mapped and/or ragged. Personally would look elsewhere, especially if the previous owner felt the need to put quad tips on a diesel Scout. MOT history also says a lot about how the car was (not) cared for.

It is dead cheap and could be broken for spares and get that money back plus.

Nothing much to do if it does run well and that haldex works. If the rear end is not rotten it needs little spending on it.

Thanks for the replies all.... decided not to go for it in the end, the guy on the phone was a real wheeler dealer. Still looking for a mk2 diesel estate octavia if anyone is selling though.....!
