My 2022 IV starts to make a noise as soon as I unlock it. Doesn't even need to be turned on.

It's not loud, but is consistent.

Sounds like it could be the 'e-noise' that 'replaces' the petrol engine noise when running on electric.

If so, why make it as soon as the car is unlocked, and not just when driving?

It is the heating/aircon which comes on when it is unlocked to get the cabin temperature to the whatever it is set to. It is normal, as far as I know.

Ours has become particularly noisy recently, and I did ask the dealer to have a look at it when it was being serviced recently, but they didn't.
