Hello,

Can anyone tell me where the Skoda Fabia Elegance 2006 model car's STARTER RELAY is located please?

Thank you.

Thank you so much Lee for trying to help.

I've already seen this video by HatboyHarvey - and have taken the trim/panels off and have gained full access to the relay board, furthermore, I've taken out an tested all of the relays, of which there appears to be only 4, these include relays: 53 (of which there are 2), 393 and 449 all of which appear to be healthy and working. I can't seem to locate the specific relay for the ignition; do you know if there are anymore relays located elsewhere?

Thank you.

What problem are you trying to solve?

There isn't a relay in the starter motor circuit, I don't think.

More information about the car would be useful, whatever the issue; VIN or reg ideally, but at least engine type.

Hello Breezy_Pete,

I can’t turn the engine over after I insert the ignition key. I called the AA out and was informed that the problem was probably the ignition relay - not the starter motor but the ignition relay.

Thanks.

This is usually a broken starter solenoid wire. They break just outside the cable entry point of the connector.

Smallest wire going to starter motor.

More visible on some engine types than others. Which do you have?

Thank you so much for this Pete. The model of my car is: Skoda Elegance 2006 - Engine: BBZ157461AUB...

OK, a 1.4 16V petrol.

Yours probably has a combined engine cover/air filter rather than the silly cone filter in this image, and it may be easier to see where you need to if you remove that engine cover, but that may not be necessary.

Look vertically downward, preferably with a torch, in the area where the orange ring is, trying to see something similar to the image I posted above, possibly with a wire floating around loose.

Thank you so much Breezy_Pete,

I will take a good look when I get a chance and update you accordingly.

At least I know where the relays are now and how to get to them if I need to in future.

One more thing if I may, are there any relays situated behind the instrument panel?

Kind regards,

Ilkay.

There are no other relays; and as I said, none involved in starter motor operation.

Solenoid power comes direct from the ignition switch, a red/black wire.
