Strut Mount

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My wife’s car has a very loud clunk on full lock or turning from the passenger side. It’s a Skoda Octavia 2017 1.4 sport.

Sounds like the spring is having some resistance issues…will it be the top mount/bearing that is causing the problem?

Phoned a few garages but can’t get in until about 10 days time. Will it still be ok to drive?

Tried to take a few photos and gave it a spray with some gt40 hoping that might lubricate some up there 😂

Had one on an old van that did the same plus wouldn't return to straight steering. Ran it for a good while before the garage could fix and it was fine but first check that the spring isn't actually broken and your missing an end. Have had that before and spring was catching as it wasn;t seated properly and causing a clunk at full lock.
