Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Tech (2013) - Dashboard Warning Lights - ABS & ESP/ESC Engaged

Hi All

The other day 2 dashboard warning lights came on in my Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo Tech (2013). Looking in my manual they are apparently the ABS & ESP/ESC Engaged lights. Normal braking is unaffected; conditions are such that i haven't needed ABS so i can't swear it isn't working.

Just before the warning lights came on, I did notice a slight judder, you know as if ABS has kicked in, when I was braking.

We've had both front wheels off and there is nothing particulalry obvious there, also checked fuses and brake fluid level.

Is there anything that springs to anyone's mind that we can try before we get it booked in to a garage?

I take it they're on solid rather than flashing? If so, then they're ABS and ASR failed rather than operating. The most likely cause is a failed sensor or broken wiring to a sensor. VCDS or OBD II should identify which corner the issue is at. Also note that an ABS failure is cause for an MoT failure.

Double check the strip fuses for hairline cracks as well as getting it scanned. The crack on my sons was almost invisible until I removed fuse and it broke in two. Cant remember which one but there in front of battery,
