I have a 2012 Skoda Superb S TDI CR 1598cc Diesel. About a year ago the RAC breakdown service fitted a new battery. Ever since then there have been bits missing from the digital readout on the dashboard, notably the mileage indicator. By 'bits' I mean parts of the digits so that it is difficult to check the mileage accurately (see photos) and the MOT garage will therefore not complete the mileage on the certificate.

Has anyone come across this before and if so is there a way of rebooting the system to regain the full digital readout or any other way of fixing the problem?

99% LCD is broken, disassemble and clean, if doesn't help buy second hand instrument cluster and replace LCD only. If you share VIN then I can check instrument cluster part number
