Drive belt size?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has anyone come into an issue when replacing the drive (serpentine) belt? I have a 2015 Fabia and the belt itself is 6pk1078 though everywhere is selling 6pk1080. I have tried using the latter today, and it's squealing terribly. Just wanted to get other people's thoughts on this predicament? As I wouldn't have thought 2mm would make such a difference.

Is the self tensioner working properly?

Thanks. AG Falco

Put the old one back on and see if it's squealing or not.

I answered my own question guys. I wrongly re routed the drive belt like an idiot. So those two part numbers I've referenced are interchageable. Please see my crude drawing below - hope this helps anyone stuck in a similar pickle in future! Regards, IMG20250726144421.jpg

Oddly enough, since my last post:

I've shuffled the AC compressor and alternator forward, in order to remove the belt tensioner, as I noticed that it had a hairline crack in the metal, where the plastic wheel sits on the tensioner itself!

Fortunately a brand new tensioner is only £30 or thereabouts, but it's a nightmare that on the MK3 you got to shuffle the compressor and alternator forward to gain access. It took me ages.

I will put up a step by step on this forum in the coming week, providing I get a moment, as I don't feel the process of replacing the tensioner is straightforward on these if I'm honest. And so I hope it will help others in the same predicament.

PS. Tensioner Pulley part number is 04B903315

Thanks,

Martin
