what is the benefits of fitting samco hoses?

Do then give any extra performance and are they worth fitting?

yes they are worth fitting, not only from a performance point but also a reliability angle, the hoses are stronger and more durable then standard stuff, basically most manufacteurs (sp) boost hoses flex, meaning valuble pressure is wasted in expanding the hoses rather than boosting the engines power, granted these are small amounts on a standard engine, but when boost is increased it could become more significant,

As also siad the constant exspansion and release on standard hoses can weaken or even spilt them leading to a complete loss of boost, the samcos are layered silicon making them very strong, most jubille clips will go before the hose!

simply the samco will hold boost better and last longer, hehe they look pretty too

BTW has anyone got a pic of a samco'd vRS engine bay?

So how easy are they to fit?

I assume we're talking coolant hoses etc here, so is any draining down needed?

I was mainly talking about boost holding hoses on turbo'd cars

I havent fitted em to the Skud yet, had em on me last yoke though (impreza) and only turbo-intercooler-TB didnt bother with coolant as they were reg rubber anyway, the imprezas boost hoses were made of egg carton plastic! p155 poor!

havent had the Skud long so I havent even had the engine cover off to have a look round yet...

in general though replacing hoses is probably one of the handiest jobs on a car, if replacing coolant hoses then yes I would reccomend you drain the coolant... if its fresh enuff just pop back in but its always better to replace IMHO

no worries, AFAIK you can get every hose replaced with Samco,, its just I personally would start with the intercooler/turbo hoses it can get pricey though it is something I plan for the future, hoping to get some in the Skoda green they have on the website :D

Impreziv does a Samco kit but I'm not sure what constitues the kit.

I was really asking about all the turbo related hose e.g. i/c to inlet manifold, air inlet to turbo etc.

guess it's another thing to put on the "to do" list.
