PCV valve? 2011 1.2TSI 105 BHP FABIA 2.

Featured Replies

Hi there. This is my first post here. I wonder if someone can confirm that this is a PCV valve as it looks different to all the ones I can find online that are listed for my engine.

The one fitted has three ports with one plastic pipe and a rubber hose, whereas all the ones I can find only have one for the breather pipe and the other pushes into the grommet. The plastic pipe to the right in the picture had split in numerous places so I put some heatshrink round it as a temporary measure. It's now replaced with 10mm id silicon hose.

The grommet itself had turned to mush and has been replaced. I'm not sure which version my engine is as it was built around the changeover period.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I'm wondering if there's a different version that goes with DSG gearbox, does your car have that?

Hi Breezy Pete. Yes it does have a DSG gearbox.

I'll start a private message conversation with you in a sec.

Would be good to know reg or VIN in order to look up correctly part.

🙂

I don't know if these are of any use:

Sorry for delay, PM replied to.

Looks like you may have a non-standard arrangement there.

This is a photo of where the second hose goes to. It splits into two with a plastic hose connecting to the brake servo, and the second leads round the back of the engine.

I'll have a look at our Roomster in a bit, for comparison.

Interesting. There's no such second connection on our Roomster, but I just found a system that looks a lot like the arrangement currently on yours, from a Self Study Programme for the Audi version of the 1.2 TSI of this era.

Is there an electrical connection (like the green plug on this image) at your brake servo vacuum connection?

Thanks for your research into this. I don't recall seeing a connection but I'll confirm tomorrow when it's light and take more pictures.

I had the idea of looking up the vacuum hose from brake servo for your VIN, instead of looking solely at that right-angle valve with the two hoses.

Seems the part equivalent to your last photo is supposed to look like this for your car:

Edit: error in text additions to above pic, the label 'brake servo connection' should read 'connection to hose from servo, that crosses firewall left to right' That hose is part number 6R2612041R.

Part number of pictured bit is 6R0612041F.

So none of that suction jet stuff. Wondering if your setup (or whole engine?!) has come from another car at some point in the past.

If the brake servo assistance appears to be fine, I wouldn't be rushing to change anything though.

This is the arrangement on our manual gearbox Roomster with same engine, showing the 'cross firewall' hose and then the additional bit from that to manifold below throttle body:

The setup on my Fabia looks like yours but with an additional branch off to the PCV valve. the first photo shows the hose to the servo. In the 2nd is the cross firewall hose to the three way junction. The 3rd is the bottom connection of the three way junction and the hose leading to the rear of the engine. The last photo is the hose from the third port of the junction going to the PCV valve. I'm the second owner of this car which was owned by a Vicar down the country from me so I don't know whether it's had a replacement engine fitted previously. With the exception of the brake servo pressure sensor G294, it looks very like the Audi setup with the suction jet pump you mentioned before.

I've just checked the engine number on the V5 document and it matches the one on the sticker on the engine.

That's reassuring I guess.

So either the part numbers that partslink24 currently show as correct for your VIN used to be different, or that hose assembly has come from elsewhere on its way to being on your car. I suspect the latter, but don't know how to check, except...

Is there a visible 'manufactured on' date visible on any of the hard pipe sections or valves etc of your set-up, which might indicate a mismatch of dates relative to when your car was built?

The hose from the PCV to the maybe jet pump is dated 29/04/11, the cross firewall hose 08/04/11 and the one from the pump to engine 11/04/11. I can't see any numbers on the valves and I'm a little bit reluctant start undoing stuff and potentially damaging or splitting the plastic pipes as the one to the PCV was already cracking. Thanks for your investigation!

All those dates seem consistent with one another, and with your car's build date of 05/05/2011.

So it is looking like it was all there from the factory.

I admit to being a little baffled about why the parts catalogue currently denies their existence.

Maybe someone with true ETKA like a Skoda dealer can shed some light, as I think that gives more of a view of the history of part numbers.

Anyone else with a mk2 Fabia with CBZB engine care to look at their hose-work to look for similarities?
