steering wheel light

Featured Replies

Steering wheel light keeps coming and going off once turned on and off. recently had a new rack a few months back. never really felt the same since then but drove fine none the less. Haven’t been able to get the code to come on with a code reader to hand. i’m assuming it’s the pump or sensor. the Fluid level is fine. Any ideas ?

Hi,

That sounds very similar to what I had.
If the fluid level is fine, it’s usually either a bad electrical connection or the pump itself starting to fail.

Check the basics first:

  • Battery/alternator voltage (the pump is very sensitive to low voltage).

  • Fuses and wiring (clean connectors with contact cleaner).

If that all checks out, most of the time it ends up being the pump electronics rather than the rack or fluid. A used TRW pump fixed mine
