Yeti Headlight Change D Clips Electrical connections cannot separate disconnect

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help me please disconnect the Xenon headight connector on the back of the unit to replace a broken headlight.

It is not the same as the other dclips for example on the coolant expansion tank where I push it in a bit pull back the tab and then extract.

At first I thought the clip was broken but then I see a number of these types of clip round the engine bay and they are different to the dclips I am used to.

Thought best to ask before I damage something.

Picture attached of the standard type of dclip and then one of the 'other' type, has anyone experience of these and can advise please.

thank you

I'm not sure if this will work on these d clips, but on the 'regular headlight ones ' which can be a pain, I put a narrow screwdriver into the body between the two bits that separate, rather than the tab part. I then find that eases the two parts apart without breaking the tab/clip ..?

Yup it lifts up, but very stiff. So like you said, id go in from the back and pop it over its locking block that you can see its on now. As when you try and pull it open with your thumb they never seem to lift enough.

I have some small prods for this kind of thing, use them for popping our O rings as well.
