Octavia PHEV "Electric Drive Not Working"

Featured Replies

On Sunday morning I found that my 2021 Octavia IV had not charged the HV battery overnight as it usually would, (daftly) thought nothing of it and drove the car as usual. On Tuesday I went to leave for work and found that car completely immobile - the 22v battery had died overnight and was reading a current of around 6v.

I have charged the battery and the vehicle now starts however on startup I'm seeing the following warnings:

Electric Drive not working, stop vehicle safely

And

Engine limited to 3000rpm.

I've called my local dealer who have advised that the drive error may be related to the 12v dying but have told me to bring it in next week, which I'll do, but I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue and what the resolution was?

Tia.

Sadly only too common if you do a keyword search for this forum or any on the internet.

It's common for the 12V battery to fail, but I don't recall any recent mentions of the messages "Electric Drive not working," or "Engine limited to 3000rpm".

I have looked on here and elsewhere and can't find anyone with the same issues after the 12v goes. If you could point me to any threads that would be much appreciated.

Use just he Key words from your title in a search. Ocrtavia PHEV Electric Drive not working

I see others that have had exactly your issue and been on social media.

Sorry for wasting your time if nothing there.
