Considering changing from an Octavia estate to a Mk 4 Superb. The Superb is obviously a longer car than the Octavia and having measured my driveway it would fit, but I am wondering if anyone had an idea on the distance required behind the car to open the boot and whether this differs much between the hatch and estate?

On the estate, online resources suggest a 30cm safe distance from the back. I've parked mine as close as 10cm from a wall and still managed to open the boot.

But if you are parking within these tolerances, expect emergency park brake or however it's called to be a bigger issue.
