Has developed a headlight fault, during driving at night , when switching from high to low beam the low beam doesn't resume when switched back on the stalk, switch the basin switch on and off a few times and play with the stalk and it works again only to go off at the next opportunity of main beam operation,, sounds like a stalk switch problem, but I'll ask the experts

The good news is that I think you've diagnosed the issue correctly.

The bad news is that you need a new dip/indicator stalk.

OK everyone ,,, headlight dip issue resolved,,, can of halfords electrical contact cleaner €5 , soaked the inside/ steering column area where all the movement is top , bottom front and back motions and after 10 or 15 times turning on andoff it's working perfectly , hooray cheap fix
