whistleing turbo?

Featured Replies

Yesterday they got the parts and replaced them. I don't know exactly what the parts were, but it was something to do with the intercooler and turbo (one seal and some hatches).

It was done under warranty so I don't know the part numbers or the price of the components and work done.

Hope that helps...

Nope it wasn't like that, it was like the sound from a dog whistle (high frequency), it appeard only on light to medium acceleration from 1700 to 2300rpm and it lasted about one second.

I'm not going to be the first to say it.

I'm afraid that my f****** whistle is back after 5000kms:mad:

Been to the dealers and they told me that they service one more Fabia vRS and that that it does the same (mine's remapped the other one isn't). They also said that it isn't a big deal:eek:

Does somebody else have the same problem (soun like from a dog whistle, quite loud, happens around 2000/min on light acceleration - if I floor it it doesn't happen)?

Exactly the same. It is normal.

How could it be normal if it wasn't there before (and I'm 110% sure it wasnt there before)?

mines got a bit of a wistle around there mate dont think its anything to worry about mine done it for 18000 miles . is ur car losing power

Nope, it's running as strong as ever.

mine whistles too, just the turbo spooling whistle i think,

I have never heard the turbo spinning up when the windows are closed, it can be heard spinning down with the windows shut, i would say something not quite right if uits a sound that was not there before.

According to Skoda, it is normal for the turbo to become louder. If you are not losing power, then why worry? Mine has been like it for over a year.

I used to get a slight screech/whistle when I used to but my foot down in the wrong gear... didn't even had to be hard acceleration.

Bit like the sound of somebody running thier fingernails down a blackboard - shudder!
