I'm looking to buy a s/h fabia 3. It has a fabia 3 on the tailgate and comes up in car checks as a fabia 3 but it got a 09 plate. Is this possible? As I thought the 3 didn't come out till 2014.

It's a mk2 Fabia.

In a move seemingly designed to confuse, at one stage mk2 fabia trim levels were designated Fabia 1, Fabia 2 and Fabia 3.

Thanks mate. Definitely confusing. It's definitely got mk2 interior and a Dance stereo.
