2.0 TDi fuel sensor clip

Featured Replies

Hi, all,

I’ve bought a TDi tuning chip and have fallen at the first hurdle. I’m required to first remove the female connector to the fuel sensor, although it’s not immediately obvious how to do this. There seems to be a tab of sorts but I can’t tell what to do with it and don’t want to force anything. I’ve looked at the male connector on the chip harness for clues but I’m drawing a blank. Can anyone please help? Please see attached pic.IMG_4966.jpeg

Electrical connectors are always a pain to remove because the rubber seals create a nice vacuum and make them tough to move.

What I like to do is to push the connector firmly into the sensor (the opposite to what you'd normally do), then squeeze the tab and then pull back.

Pushing the connector onto the sensor removes any pressure on the locking mechanism making it easy to lift the tab & remove the lock before sliding off the sensor.
