No check engine light, PD100

Featured Replies

Hi all, just bought an ATD engine PD100 (privately),and I missed the fact the C.E.L didn't come with ignition! I've pulled the binnacle and the dials off the board but there's nothing untoward, no tape, no Sharpie, nothing. I'm assuming it may have been mapped out? For what reason I'm not sure as having scanned it there aren't any stored codes. Any idea if I can (using Obdeleven) remove any map? Thanks, PP

It could be as simple as a failed LED or dry joint on circuit board. Not sure how you would test it though.

An LED would test 0.5v on diode test. I'm sure you could track trace and continuity check back a driver IC. It is rare for leds to fail though.
The leds look surface mount, so you'd have to remove that white surround to test and trace.
Are there any faults present when scanned ? Just wondering if there was a reason to kill the led.

Thanks for replying, no fault codes stored (checked with OBDELEVEN) may send the binnacle off
