Hi all, im new to the skoda scene, ive just got a fabia monte carlo 1.6 tdi which i bought with a siezed engine (wet belt failure) I swapped out the engine with my sons crashed A3 with a cay engine, but in the crash the the plastic inlet got sucked in and damaged the valve seats so the heads been replaced, new timing belt, new turbo new oil filter housing and oil cooler. Been a busy few weeks.

Hi Steve and welcome along.

You really have been a busy beaver for a while 😂

Hope you learned lots while doing all that work..

Hello Steve, are you sure about that cambelt being wet (belt in oil) type?

The Cambelt is conventional, the oil pump belt on the otherhand is 100% in the sump submerged in the oil - wet belt. There usually so reliable not many know they have a wet belt.

Yes learnt lots and lots about them and all the subtle differences between the skoda and audi fitment. Actually been a great little engine to work on.
