New Newbie with an Skoda Octavia Mk4

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,
I'm Stanley, 32 years young and living in the always sunny Netherlands. Up until August this year, I was driving a lease car—a Toyota Corolla. What a great car, nothing to complain about (or so I thought). Due to a change in my role, I had to return the car. We then bought a Seat Mii. We also had a 2009 Ford Fiesta as our second car.

Three weeks ago, my wife and I welcomed our second child. Now that our family has grown again, it was time for a car with more space. I immediately had a Skoda in mind—I think their cars look really nice these days. I took a test drive in a 2021 Skoda Octavia 4, 1.0 TSI, Business Edition. You guessed it... I was sold right away. I was amazed by the quality and maturity of the car, and that’s when I realized the Toyota Corolla wasn’t as perfect as I had initially thought.

I’ll be picking up the car in about a week. I’m already browsing around for some accessories. I’d also like to install a rearview camera myself. I’ve seen several discussions about that on this forum. I hope to have a fun and informative time here with all of you. If you have any cool suggestions for accessories or tips for installing the rearview camera, I’d love to hear them. And if you have any questions for me, feel free to ask.

Cheers,
Stanley

Hi Stanley and welcome to Briskoda.

I remember experiencing the same 'sold right away' feeling when I took my first ever test drive in a Skoda. That was sixteen years ago and I've owned Skodas ever since. Enjoy yours thumbup
