Skoda Fabia USB radio alternative

Featured Replies

Good afternoon / evening to everyone, and thank you for having me, im a begginner and skoda fabia mk1 from 2004 owner for a couple of weeks now and just found this forum, would like to get an opinion from anyone more experienced here, as i was wondering if its possible to replace to original symphont cd radio for a simple non touch usb-mp3 unit, and if there are any unit recommendations if possible

Thanks alot in advance, have a great week

My son has an 06 MK1 and he wanted wifi so he could link his smart phone for music. He got this from Halfords for around £18-00. Its tuned into an FM band and seems to work fine.

Hey thanks for replying, every idea is welcomed!

I had tried one of those on my previous car and it kept failing on me and draining the cellphone battery too, so im kinda heading for a simple radio with usb, many years ago i had a usb radio in a vauxhall corsa i had, but here it seems to be very difficult to find one for this fabia, i wonder why that could be......

Had an 09 plate Seat altea with cd fm radio but it had a USB in flip top middle arm rest. My 08 octavia only had a 3.5mm jack plug. I assume there must be radios out there that would fit with the option of an external USB input. I If you have a Halfords/car audio shop near by maybe have a look or ask them.

You should be able to find a double DIN Unit with a fascia adapter plate to fit. If you are anywhere near a car audio shop try there rather than Halfords. Audio Tech Direct have Skoda aftermarket Android radios on their website .

Sure, by having a look at their website, (by brand model year) no option came up for the fabia mk1 2004.....

I mean all i see are bluetooth receiving car radios, surely must be standalone options for this..

You used to get a USB adapter that used the CD multichanger slot if you have one. Not sure if they are still available.

Sure, i was able to track down this option, seems to be a good radio but cant really find where to order it ...

Sony DSX-GS80

I have a Sony MEX-BT3100U. USB and Bluetooth (although the USB can be flaky when connected to some devices) pretty happy with it though.

Sounds great, i didnt need the cd player so i ended get getting a cheap compatible unit from a local brand and did it myself, i have to get some adapters too but its been working fine so far....

The original door speakers arent great but, maybe ill replace them in the future but is good to have some nice music for now..
