Sticking charging flap

Featured Replies

Hi all, our 73 plate Enyaq has now developed a hopefully minor issue with the charging flap as it occasionally sticks every couple of days. After locking and unlocking the car, hitting the flap, it eventually opens. Not the best situation. Its booked into the main dealers in Durham next week to have it sorted.

Is it a sticking solenoid? If so, can this be disabled or not? to prevent this occuring in the future, can the solenoid linkage be lubricated? Is this a common issue with any VW product, sorry for all the questions!

Well known issue on VAG cars. Water gets into the solenoid by rain running down the locking pin. This is exacerbated on EVs as the fuel door is open for long periods.
