Manufacturer Approved - in name only?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Need your input on something as its the first time I buy a car from a dealer, especially a Skoda dealer.

Have set my sights on a Skoda Superb iV (2022), full service history with the main dealer, and even a major service done just last week, as a sign of how professional they are.

Have decided to bite the bullet and sign the dotted line for the car, with a view to collect the car on Saturday.

Problem is, as I was just browsing for different stuff, I came across the GOV's recall service checker, and checked it there and to my surprise, the car looks like it has been recalled - are the dealers allowed to sell vehicles that have outstanding recall issues? Especially advertising these as manufacturer approved? I have sent them a message, maybe they can confirm the recall work was done, but in the service records they printed and showed me, there was no mention regarding any recall work done... What is your take on it? Also, is there a placed where I could check what was the recall about, as the gov website does not say what is is for... (neither the skoda one)
