Skoda roomster dpf clean

Featured Replies

Hi, fed up with regular regeneration ( regardless of how i drive or how far I drive ) so I had a professional DPF clean, anyway it drove great for a few miles then regenerated hard a few times..so I drove car in third gear ( to keep revs up ) for half hour or so..car then drove great and still does! More power and smoother..car regenerated yesterday! So I drove it for half hour or so till regen stopped..what I dont understand is the DPF is now super clean and I haven't driven more than forty miles if that..so why the regeneration? I suspect when the roomster got the VW modification..it told the car the regenerate regardless of how I drive..as I have put 30k of miles on the car and the regens seem to follow a pattern? About two days a week regeneration...was worth the £370 to get DPF cleaned as car drives nice now...anyone else noticed this, that their roomster regenerates regardless of distance or how driven?

How far is the car driven each day, or after cold starts? Easy to check if 'The Fix' shows as being outstanding. Check using the VIN if it shows that it could be done. & there will be no Flow Device in the Air Intake if it is a 1.6TDI CR you have & not done. But they could be and then rolled back and the insert removed.

I have the older, 2009 BLS engine, mostly drive 20km round trips per day (part town), no issues for last 70k kms (I know this because belt time is coming up). This is for those who tend to yell - you should drive it more! It regenerates like a clock and yes, I have checked its there. 12 -14k per year is my mileage. 351k on the odo, bought it with 283k. My experience is, if you have problems with the DPF, there is something wrong with your engine, fix the engine first.

Hi, engine in my Roomster green line is completely different...there is nothing wrong with the engine, the question i put was that when Skoda did the remap, did they change the regeneration cycle as well? I have had my dpf professionally cleaned £370 and it's certainly driving a lot better..it regenerates regardless of my driving habits ( I bought car after Skoda remap ) it still regenerates same as before 3-4 times a week so I think we can assume something was altered on the remap regarding regeneration..my dpf is now squeaky clean but still regeneration as before ( when it was full of soot ) it's annoying and I need to change oil every 4k as the regeneration puts diesel into the oil - but I love my roomster and put up with this stuff as it's such a good car

Ask on tdiclub.com forums about the regeneration frequency of your 1.6 CR engine, do mention your engine code, thats why I put mine in my post (I know its different from yours).
